In the office

My first night in Casper was interesting to say the least. After going to dinner in a slightly more-cowboy version of Applebee's/Chili's a few of the interns and myself went to a dance club/bar called "The Beacon". The Beacon, for those of you who are from SLO, is kinda like the Grad on line dancing night...but ALL THE TIME. There is a huge neon sign on the side of building that says, "Where the cowboys go sneakin'".

WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?

I have never heard that expression before in my life and was driven to find the meaning of it. To give you some background to the night. Casper, WY is currently home to the rodeo finals which are in town until this saturday which means that cowboys and gowgirls from all over the nation (mainly the south lol) to compete in random rodeo events that would only make sense if you know what a rodeo is. Attempting to fit in among all these cowboys in FULL cowboy attire was not an easy feat. If it helps, think Billy Crystal in City Slickers (ya, essentially a gringo). Anyway, after meeting a few nice people here from the Cal Poly Rodeo team, I was introduced to the owner of the place and asked her face to face what the expression "sneakin" meant. Laura, the owner, told me that sneakin is what cowboys do at night...example- sneakin out of the house while their parents don't know.

I am very busy right now preparing for tomorrow for Opening day by selling tickets and fulfilling orders. It's pretty fun so far.

Comment!

PS- order a hat because they're badass!
